This update focuses on giving IT and operations teams greater visibility into identity management changes, higher throughput and reliability in enterprise printing environments, and more modern attachment handling through APIs. With v24.5, AventX continues to optimize core infrastructure while aligning with long term platform requirements and evolving security best practices.

As organizations look to modernize Oracle document delivery, printing, and integration workflows, AventX v24.5 introduces practical improvements that reduce risk, increase scalability, and support hybrid environments. From human review-based Entra ID group change notifications to load-balanced local printing and expanded API attachment options, this release helps teams maintain control while moving faster with confidence.

Instead of automatically updating Entra ID group membership, teams can receive a detailed email outlining recommended user additions and removals, sent to configurable recipients. This approach supports security best practices by enabling review and manual intervention before changes are made, while maintaining consistency through AventX’s existing email framework.

Enhanced Flexibility: AventX Now Sends Documents Despite Attachment Issues

In the past, when generating a document for delivery, if an attachment from Oracle EBS or other sources were unavailable, AventX would fail the delivery process. The application would alert users and admins of an error so it could be corrected and reattempted. Now, AventX can continue sending the document to its intended recipient while providing a configurable notification about the missing attachment. This enhanced flexibility gives organizations more control over how they want to communicate with their recipients and can help prevent delays in critical business processes.

Batch printing allows you to print multiple documents simultaneously, saving time and resources. Consolidating related documents into a single file also improves organization and retrieval.

Stay Informed with Statuses and Messages, such as:

Printed / No Error: Your print job has successfully taken flight and reached its destination—mission accomplished!

Wait / In Queue: Your print job is patiently waiting its turn in the printing queue—just a little more patience, and it will be on its way.

Wait / No Toner: Oh no! The printer is out of toner, but don’t worry; it’s just a minor mechanical error. Replace it, and your print job will be back on track.

Wait / Paper Out: The printer is out of paper. Time to load up and let your print job continue its journey.

Wait / Printer Offline: The printer is temporarily offline but will be back online soon to resume printing your document.

Fatal / Exceeded Print Time Window: Unfortunately, your print job couldn’t take off within the configurable time window.

Fatal / Out of Memory: The printer’s memory is full. Clear the memory, and your print job can be re-queued to the runway.

Document Delivery Improvements

Send DocuSign Documents for Signature with a Defined Routing Order

DocuSign is a sophisticated eSignature application with various advanced delivery options. With that in mind, the original release of the AventX integration to DocuSign enabled users to send a document to multiple recipients using DocuSign’s Signing Groups feature. Signing Groups allows senders to acknowledge the document as signed when any of the recipients sign the document.

Now, users have more options with the ability to invoke DocuSign’s Routing Order functionality. This feature allows AventX deliveries to be sent through DocuSign with a defined order for the recipients to sign the document.

In other words, if you have three (3) individuals that need to sign the file, they can be forced to sign in a specific order. For example, if a Supplier, Buyer, and Procurement manager must sign a contract—and in that defined order—AventX can pass this configuration to DocuSign to handle the signatures and routing. Once signed by all recipients, the document is marked complete!

See other recent enhancements to this integration here:

The AventX Core Mail SC device (SFT) has a maximum default file/package expiration limit of 366 days. This can be problematic for senders who want files to available to recipients for a longer term. Especially organizations that have legal or compliance justifications for keeping files around longer.

With this recent release, the AventX device configuration for SFT allows administrators to configure an override expiration date beyond the default limit. Whether you need to keep a file around and accessible in SFT for two years or ten, AventX can handle this requirement.

Headquartered in Redwood City, California, Equinix is a multinational company that specializes in connected data centers and related services. With data centers located in 52 markets across five continents, they are the world’s largest interconnection and colocation provider.

Equinix had a manual process of sending documents such as invoices and purchase orders to their customers and vendors. This process was prone to human error and required individuals to track sent documents manually. With the company growing fivefold in the last ten years, the number of sent documents has also increased. “As our company is growing, we have more customers and more vendors. We need to communicate with them as fast as possible – time is of the essence,” says Mohan Dutt, Senior Director of IT at Finance Shared Services. He reports that Equinix was manually delivering 10,000 to 15,000 documents and spending 400 to 500 hours monthly on the delivery and follow-up process. The company considered increasing headcount to meet the volume but doing so wouldn’t scale as the business continues to grow. Dutt understood this was a considerable challenge for the company and realized it was time for a solution to automate the document delivery process to keep pace with the business growth.

The Solution

After several years of evaluating various options, Equinix couldn’t find a solution as robust as AventX for Oracle Connector. Dutt states, “The closest one we evaluated was Oracle BI Publisher, but then we had to build additional extensions. With AventX, it all comes together in one box.”

AventX allows Equinix to automatically deliver any volume of Oracle-generated documents while providing flexibility and control. For example, their Brazil branch required each customer’s invoices to include specific attachments. The original delivery process was only able to send one document per email. AventX allows emails to include multiple attachments, saving users’ time and customers from a cluttered inbox. Today, Equinix has a logic to automate document pick-up and delivery through AventX, which is configured to send out documents over five to six hours. There are also reports to monitor which documents were sent and bounced back.

With the implementation of AventX, business users are no longer doing any manual processing, and customers are happy they get their invoices within hours. “The faster these documents reach our customers, the faster we get paid—which is an improvement in our Days Sales Outstanding.” Equinix can also scale up, sending six to seven times more documents than their original delivery process without adding headcount on their business or IT departments. Dutt adds, “AventX has helped us to automate our process and lead us to a very efficient end-to-end process for document delivery.”
