The David J. Joseph Company Automates Inbound Fax Delivery of Invoices

The David J. Joseph Company (Cincinnati, OH), one of the oldest and largest scrap-metal brokerage operations in the US, chose STR Software to automatically route thousands of incoming documents to the appropriate recipients.

David Lewis, Director of Infrastructure and Security at DJJ needed to address the serious pain of manually receiving, scanning, and redirecting 10,000 invoices per day. With so much user intervention required, invoices were frequently lost or misrouted. Seeking a hardware-free solution, Lewis began investigating his automated inbound routing options.

Lewis was familiar with STR Software from his previous work experience with STR Software customer Masco. After a single phone call to STR Software, a proposal was created and ultimately a solution was put in place. Using FAXCOM Anywhere for Windows, incoming invoices are routed to ten, toll-free numbers, each of which is assigned to a dedicated email address. The low-cost, low-maintenance solution was exactly what DJJ needed. Looking forward, they will explore outbound routing from the desktop as phase two of the project.

Porex Delivers a Variety of Business Documents via Email, Directly from Oracle EBS

Porex Technologies (Fairburn, GA), a leading OEM manufacturer of porous, surgical, and filtration products, automates email delivery of six common business documents from Oracle EBS using AventX.

Porex planned to migrate from Oracle Reports to BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) when they learned about AventX in 2007. Immediately, they were impressed with AventX’s integration with Oracle, particularly the ability to query for document delivery status without ever leaving EBS, a feature not offered by their existing RightFax solution. Shortly after being introduced to AventX, a hold on IT purchases was implemented at Porex bringing a number of projects to a halt. In 2009, when the hold was lifted, the desire to improve efficiencies resurfaced and soon they were back at the table with STR Software discussing document delivery.

In the end, Porex chose to deliver invoices, POs, SOAs, shipping orders, packing lists and bills of lading by email from their Oracle EBS environment using AventX, a total of 400 documents daily.

DaVita Chooses AventX to Print AP Check Stubs

Hormel Foods Moves to BI Publisher, Chooses AventX to Deliver Purchase Orders

Hormel Foods Corporation (Austin, MN), manufacturer of high-quality, brand-name food products worldwide, will use AventX to automate fax and email delivery of 700 purchase orders daily.

Hormel evaluated their existing fax solution and decided it was time to move away from third-party forms packages in favor of Oracle’s own BI Publisher, which they already had in-house. The organization began searching for a fax and email delivery solution that integrated with BIP and offered reporting back into Oracle as well as the ability to automatically deliver attachments with purchase orders.

Flagstaff Unified School District Eliminates Paper Waste with AventX for BusinessPLUS

Embracing green initiatives, Flagstaff Unified School District wanted to streamline their manual purchasing process. Shurtape Selects AventX to Replace Existing SAP Fax Provider

Shurtape (North Carolina), manufacturers of commodity, industrial grade and specialty adhesive tapes, was informed that its existing internet fax service would be discontinued with 45 days of notice. Given the option to purchase a hardware-based server and continue service, Shurtape was not interested in maintaining the necessary hardware. Shurtape’s Technology Director, performed a Google search for “SAP certified fax solution” and found STR Software. STR Software’s internet fax service for SAP met the business’ needs and then exceeded expectations by also providing desktop fax capability. The Wolf Organization Upgrades Fax Servers, Adds Inbound Routing & Desktop Fax

The Wolf Organization, long-time users of STR Software’s AventX Connector for SAP ERP, has decided to further leverage their existing fax server investment. Upgrading from four-channel to eight-channel servers, the company will eliminate four physical fax machines, replacing them with inbound routing technology capable of delivering those faxes to specified email boxes. Mesa County Valley School District (Grand Junction, CO) turns to STR Software’s AventX for IFAS for automated delivery of purchase orders. Bank West Integrates AventX with RightFax Server; Gains XMLP Functionality

Yorkshire Building Society (Yorkshire, UK), one of the largest building societies in the UK, selected STR Software as its document delivery solution provider. The organization sought a network fax solution offering inbound and outbound desktop fax routing capabilities in a fax over IP environment. The final solution had two major requirements: 1) integration with over 300 multi-function printers throughout their infrastructure and 2) a completely redundant, fail-over instance. With a need to replace their antiquated faxing package, the City of Lakeland (Lakeland, FL) sought a solution that would support its HP-UX v11.11 operating system and provide integration with Oracle E-Business Suite v11.5.9. Entertainment & Media Producer Chooses AventX

Navarre Corporation (New Hope, MN) needed an automated faxing solution for both SAP and desktop-generated documents.  In addition, they required that the solution be easy to use and quick to implement while also providing acknowledgements and error-redirection.  The company’s search ended upon finding STR Software.  Navarre plans to use AventX for outbound production faxing of purchase orders and invoices at a volume of 200 pages per day.

STR Software Announces Two Major Releases

STR Software is proud to announce the release of AventX UNIX v6.0 and the AventX Oracle Connector v5.3. These new releases are available immediately and include exciting new features which will be of great benefit to our valued AventX users. New Features within AventX UNIX v6.0:

Improvement of Dirscan Functionality- The scheduler and dirscan have been split into separate processes allowing the scheduler to monitor and maintain the queue while maintaining document flow.
Groupsend of Formatted Documents- When multiple documents are sent to the same fax number, the number will only dial once, sending as many documents as configured.
Smart Restart of Documents- Restart of documents will incur at the point of initial failure providing security that only one copy of a document exists for the intended recipient.

New Features within the AventX Oracle Connector v5.3:

Scheduling of Interactive Delivery Documents- Gives customers the ability to open the Interactive Delivery form, fill in recipient information, and schedule the document to be sent at a specified interval.
Configuration of Standard Documents- Allows Oracle users to properly configure properties inside Oracle using STR Software's "Add your own Document" form, shortening the process of changing variables.
Additional Device Specification - Gives customers the ability to define one device for fax and another (Mail or Mail Plus device) for e-mail.
Configuration of 'From' Information - Permits users to hardcode the 'From' field (i.e. A faxed PO comes from "Purchasing' rather than from the individual).
