Marketing Analyst
The marketing analyst will participate in the execution, tracking, and evaluation of virtually all marketing efforts. This person will work directly with the Marketing Manager and will be a key member of the Marketing and Sales team.
Lead Generation:
- Execute on strategies ensuring prominent placement of strsoftware.com within search engine results list (Search Engine Optimization – SEO). Receive training as necessary.
- Create and implement monthly lead generation campaigns. Prepare and process both e-mail and snail mail campaigns.
- Manage prospect database for use in lead generation campaigns.
- Evaluate and obtain outside lists of targeted prospects as required.
- Analyze effectiveness of all lead generation campaigns through predefined benchmarks (cost per lead, number of leads per sale, etc.).
- Present analytical findings to the Marketing Manager and from time to time to STR Software’s Leadership Team.
Marketing Communications:
- Create and manage marketing materials including print/electronic literature, case studies, testimonials, etc. Work with technical resources to verify accuracy of information.
- Monitor and order supplies including collateral, business cards, stationary, mailers, giveaways, etc.
- Partner with Sales and Support departments in pursuit of customer case studies and testimonials. Maintain an updated inventory of these documents across our target markets.
- Maintain safe inventory levels of all marketing materials and documents.
- Manage and create bi-monthly newsletter in order to maintain consistent contact with installed customer base.
- Manage scheduling and invitations for Webinar demonstrations.
- Own responsibility for creation of PowerPoint/other presentations as needed.
- Support partnership efforts as needed (partner engagement, creation/distribution of marketing materials, etc.).
- Assist in the development, presentation and standardization of corporate creative documents and apply creative standards to all marketing materials.
Web Site Development and Maintenance
- Ensure the Web site is a functional lead generation tool with a natural inquiry flow.
- Develop, implement and evaluate search engine positioning strategies to maximize lead generation.
- Update and maintain web site for fresh content and appearance. Receive training as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain web links from strsoftware.com to partner sites.
- Monitor STR web links from partner sites to strsoftware.com.
Market Analysis:
- Analyze marketplace, buying patterns, competitors, trends, etc. as needed.
- Participate in survey development and distribute survey. Analyze and report results.
- Analyze effectiveness of all marketing efforts through measurable benchmarks.
- Implement changes based on analysis of past efforts to ensure ongoing improvement in future marketing initiatives.
- Assist marketing manager in development of marketing and strategic plans.
- Assist marketing manager with budgetary initiatives and reporting.
- Participate in the evaluation of current and new product opportunities.
Trade Show Management:
- Prepare staff and materials for annual trade shows and conferences.
- Explore new opportunities for speaking and exhibiting at trade shows.
- Manage travel arrangements and shipping materials.
- Summarize expected and actual expenses for trade show efforts.
Public Relations:
- Create and distribute news releases, feature articles and other editorial pieces.
- Manage media relationships and strive for favorable editorial coverage from editors & analysts.
- Seek targeted opportunities for media coverage related to trade show appearances, new products, new contracts, strategic alliances, etc.
Other activities:
- Continually work to understand our products and markets, and how users are impacted by our product.
- Participate in opportunities for product training such as ACT, demos, etc.
- Make actionable recommendations based on key insights from customer and prospect interactions.
- Attend trade shows, seminars, and training classes, as necessary (travel may be required).
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly status reports of activities including measurable goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skill set needed:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business
- Effective oral communication skills
- Outstanding written communication skills
- Ability to translate technical information into sales collateral
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with Adobe graphical programs and DreamWeaver preferred
Compensation:
Compensation includes base salary and profit sharing. Salary is paid on a monthly basis. Profit sharing is paid on December 31st to eligible employees who have worked the entire calendar year.
This job will require extensive technical training, both in-house and external. Some travel may be required. The position requires individual initiative, inquisitiveness and team participation. Knowledge gained will need to be shared (communicated) with other individuals at STR Software. The potential for either scheduled or unscheduled “overtime” exists in order to complete the necessary tasks to achieve goals.
