BI Publisher 11g Trial Edition – Really Easy Installation!
June 20, 2012It’s been around for a month or so, but I just got around to checking out the new BI Publisher Enterprise 11g Trial Edition that the BIP folks posted about in May.
When BIP 11g hit the streets the installation was huge. Unlike the small and easy to install BIP Enterprise 10g, 11g was quite a chore to install. Sure it was prettier than 11g and gave a lot more functionality as it’s now integrated with OBIEE, but it wasn’t very practical if you just wanted to run it on your laptop or desktop for development or demo (but could be done!).
So, if you miss the days of 10g where you could quickly and easily install BIP Enterprise and get to work, check out the Trail Edition. In less than 10 minutes I was up and running.
