Oracle Open World 2014 Edition

Hard to believe it’s been a year since the last time we were all together at Oracle Open World.  Coming out of last year, the big EBS story was Oracle EBS 12.2, it finally reached general availability, yet all remained curious about the most intriguing functionality in years, online patching.   Here is a quick blog post we wrote on online patching if you are interested.

Fast forward to the Spring of 2014, 12.2.1 was quickly followed by 12.2.2, 12.2.3, and most recently 12.2.4 (see Steven Chan’s blog post) was released with a refined look and feel, Linear Assets functionality for eAM and some mobile integrations.

Our customers are starting to adopt 12.2.  To date we have a couple implementations of the latest version of AventX supporting the Online Patching functionality and a handful of more customers scheduled for upgrades in the coming the months.

Looking ahead two weeks, STR Software is looking forward to what OOW 2014 offers in learning more about the 12.2.X release, future product direction of EBS-eAM, new planned functionality with JDE, mobile, general technical interests, and some additional learning about the Internet of Things.

In the days leading up to OOW we will post a list of the sessions we are most excited about.  In the meantime, if you plan to be at OOW let me know.  Maybe we can catch-up and grab a bite to eat together.
